Q: How young can a child start?

From age 4, in the pre-dance group. At that age we do not teach technique: we work on motor skills, rhythm and the habit of a class, through play.

Q: Are the groups split by age?

Yes, into three bands: 4-6, 6-9 and 9-12. A five-year-old and an eleven-year-old cannot learn together or at the same pace, so we do not mix them.

Q: How much does children's dance cost?

€45 a month for two hours a week, or €50 for three. Plus a one-off €20 registration fee. The year runs as 10 monthly payments, September to June.

Three groups split by age, from 4 to 12, in the early afternoon. We work on motor development, rhythm and working together, through play but with structure. It is the foundation for any dance discipline that comes later.

What a child takes away from these classes

Real motor development

Balance on one leg, crossing the body's midline, control of the core. These are trained by dancing, without the child noticing they are being trained.

Rhythm and listening

Palmas, marking the beat, stopping when the music stops. A sense of rhythm develops early and carries over to everything that follows, music included.

Discipline without rigidity

They learn to wait their turn, to repeat until it works and to hold their attention. Playful, but structured: this is not an hour of running around.

The stage

There is an end-of-year show in June. Getting on stage with their group is, for many, the first time they feel they have achieved something in front of everyone.

What you need. For the trial class, comfortable clothes and socks or soft shoes, nothing else. The school's ballet kit is a pink lycra leotard, short sheer pink skirt, beige tights and pink ballet shoes. For flamenco: school T-shirt, black skirt, black flamenco shoes and castanets.

What if my child has never danced or is very shy?

That is normal at these ages and the group does a lot of the work. You can bring her to a trial class with no commitment to see the room, the teacher and the other children before deciding anything.
