The Rocío Pozo Dance School is a dance school in central Telde, Gran Canaria, open since 1994. We teach flamenco, sevillanas, children's dance and classical ballet, from age 4 to adults, in small groups organised by level.

The 2026/2027 year began on Monday 7 September; beginners' sevillanas started on the 14th. Places are still open in several groups.

At the Rocío Pozo Dance School every movement has a reason. From the oldest compás to the freest expression, we work on body technique and on sensitivity, so that you find your own voice in the dance.

Rocío adapts her teaching to each student, drawing out what each dancer does best — whether that is a child taking her first steps or an adult looking to refine her technique.

Prices

No surprises: these are the course prices. Registration is paid once, and monthly fees are due between the 1st and the 10th.

How the year works. It runs as 10 monthly payments, from 7 September 2026 to 30 June 2027. Enrolling holds your place for the whole year. Payments are made between the 1st and the 10th of each month.

In June, €20 holds your place for the following year and is deducted from the September fee. There are no classes on national and Telde public holidays, Carnival Monday and Tuesday, Christmas or Easter. The end-of-year show is in June.

The first class is a trial and is not charged.

Where can I take flamenco classes in Telde?
The Rocío Pozo Dance School teaches flamenco at Calle Obispo Verdugo 21, 35215 Telde (Las Palmas, Gran Canaria), in the old town. Classes run Monday to Thursday, 17:00 to 22:00, with flamenco, sevillanas and children's dance groups, plus workshops on Friday afternoons.
Can I start flamenco from scratch?
Yes. We have specific beginner and level 0 groups where no previous experience is assumed. You start with posture, compás and the first steps, and progress at the group's pace.
What ages do you take, and is there an upper limit?
We take students from age 4, in the pre-dance group. There is no upper age limit: our adult groups include people who started in their 30s, 40s and 50s. Groups are organised by age and level.
Is there a trial class?
Yes. You can come to a first trial class with no commitment, to see the school, the teacher and how the group works before deciding. Book it on WhatsApp, +34 615 66 85 16.
How much do classes cost?
Flamenco is €50 a month, sevillanas €40 and children's dance €45 for two hours a week or €50 for three. Registration is a one-off €20. A single class is €15. See all prices.
Do you teach in English?
Rocío teaches in Spanish. In practice a dance class runs on demonstration, counting and rhythm, and we are used to students who are still learning the language. Message us and we will talk it through.
